Arlington, VA (May 26, 2021) — Columbia Books & Information Services (CBIS) announced today that it has acquired the Washington Nonprofit Legal & Tax Conference from law firm Webster, Chamberlain & Bean, LLP.
The addition of this event continues CBIS’ ongoing expansion of training offerings for the nonprofit and association community through two of its flagship divisions, Association TRENDS and Thompson Grants.
The conference will be merged with CBIS’ existing nonprofit finance conference, the Nonprofit Finance and Grants Summit. The newly named conference, the Nonprofit Legal, Finance and Grants Conference, will take place virtually on September 22-23, 2021, and will return to in-person in March 2022. The conference will join the company’s current lineup of education programs spanning webinars, eLearning, and conferences.
“This conference was a natural fit with our continued expansion of training offerings for nonprofit and association professionals,” stated Brittany Carter, president of CBIS. “I have long admired the standard of excellence in content that this event has established. Between the complexities of the pandemic, the surge of federal funding into the nonprofit industry, and evolving compliance complexities, we can’t think of a better time to bring this programming to our audience.”
Alan Dye, longtime Chair of the Conference and a Senior Partner at Conference sponsor Webster, Chamberlain & Bean, commented, “Our firm is proud to have operated for 55 years the conference begun by our founder George Webster and looks forward to working with the great people at CBIS to continue the Conference’s tradition of excellence and reaching an expanded audience of nonprofit lawyers, accountants, and executives.”
